Andrea Portillo-Knowles
Executive Director
Andrea Portillo-Knowles is a working mother, military spouse, and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Prior to joining the Richmond Main Street team, she served as a District Director for the Boy Scouts of America, where she specialized in outreach and workforce development youth programs spanning over several cities in the Bay Area. In addition, during her military service, she completed two tours of duty in the Middle East.
Andrea, a Middle Georgia State University Alumni, was involved in several initiatives where she was a panelist for LEAP, A Pilot Project in African American Literature II and UGA’s Women and Girls’ Conference presenting on the “Disparities in Education.” Furthermore, Andrea holds a Master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology specializing in organizational behavior and executive leadership.
Family is everything to Andrea, and in her spare time, she loves to cook, travel, and spend time with her husband and daughter. Andrea believes that “It Takes a Village” and looks forward to implementing that approach working with the Richmond community.
