In response the May 18 updated health order, we have drafted a quick breakdown of important business-related information to help you with operating safely and surviving the current shelter in place situation here in the Bay Area. Our office remains closed, with our staff working remotely. We remain committed to serving our Downtown businesses. May 18, 2020 Updated Contra Costa County Health Order

What it Does: Allows for some retail businesses to reopen via curbside pick-up only (interior of store must remain closed) and implementing all necessary safety protocols appropriate for their industry as set by the State of California, starting May 19. Full Health Order, Details: Additional Businesses Permitted to Operate, Really Good eUpdate from Supervisor John Gioia

Reopening Safely: Before reopening, please follow these steps and consult the resources we have accumulated to develop a plan that will ensure the safety of yourself, your workers, your customers, and the entire community.

1. Find Out if You Can be Open & How: Check the “What’s Open?/What’s Closed?” section of the County’s Coronavirus FAQs page

2. Develop your plan to Reopen & Operate Safely: Check out the section that corresponds to your business on the Statewide Industry Guidance to Reduce Risk page. Complete, submit to the County, and post at your business your Social Distancing Protocol

3. Make Sure you Are Prepared: There are a lot of factors to consider before reopening. Business Opportunity for Restaurants

What: “Great Plates Delivered: Home Meals for Seniors”
Who: Restaurants operating in Contra Costa County are eligible to apply to participate in the program
Purpose: 1) Help older adults (65+) and other adults (60-64) at high risk from COVID-19 to stay home and stay healthy by delivering three nutritious meals a day. 2) Provide essential economic stimulus to local businesses and workers struggling to stay afloat during the COVID crisis.
