It was an honor and joy to attend East Bay Center for the Performing Arts’ 50 More: A Community Party event on Saturday night. The evening was filled with unforgettable performances, infinite moments of joy, and every facet of Richmond’s rich cultural legacy. Check out our Twitter thread for our video clip compilation featuring Son Jarocho, Richmond High School band, Soul Progressions, African Ensemble, and Capoeira dance party. Congrats East Bay Center on 50 years of excellence…here’s to 50 more!
We are also jumping with joy about the Richmond Food Hall officially (and finally) opening! Regular hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Located at 1503 Macdonald Avenue, the food hall features two phenomenal anchor tenants—Roux and Red Bay Coffee—and a pop-up cafe space designed to incubate local food entrepreneurs. Join us in giving the food hall a warm welcome: check out Roux and Red Bay Coffee, hang out in the inclusive gathering space, and promote the pop-up space to your favorite Richmond food businesses.
