Spring is the season of sudden showers, blooms, and conferences! Last week Amanda shared insights on her trip to the National Main Street conference and this week outreach coordinator Alicia Gallo reflects on her trip to Chicago for PolicyLink’s Equity Summit 2018:
The summit was an incredible experience. For 3 days I shared space, ideas, and experiences with 4000 social change professionals from across the nation. There were so many amazing discussions and learning opportunities…I only wish I could have attended them all! I’m still processing everything, but right now themes and examples of coalition-building and community- and youth-centric leadership are on the forefront on my mind. These values are at the core of Richmond Main Street’s work and I look forward to using this experience to strengthen and expand them. And the phenomenal performance to kick-off the summit is something I’ll never forget. Last, but certainly not least, I am feeling eternally grateful to Healthy Richmond and The California Endowment for this opportunity!
