Yvette Williams grew up in Richmond, California; she graduated in the last class to graduate from Harry Ells High School. She later went on to earn her BA from Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Georgia where she studied International Business Administration. Ms. Williams spent two summers studying abroad where she earned a Certificate from the University of the Virgin Islands, in Global Leadership. In her career opportunities thus far, Ms. Williams has been active in helping the Richmond community progress. Currently working for the Literacy for Every Adult Program (LEAP) with the City of Richmond, Ms. Williams’s professional insight is invaluable as she reaches out to Richmond residents who are attempting to improve their lives. Through her previous career working for a Member of Congress, she built key relationships within the Richmond community and continues to forge new relationships as she embraces the power of networking. Ms. Williams enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends. She believes that a strong community is one filled with individuals who read for knowledge and empowerment.
