Promising works-in-progress blossomed into beautiful accomplishments in May. We officially launched our Community Green Space caretaking partnership with the Reentry Success Center Men’s Group, brought back Art In Windows with 8 artists, 2 exhibition sites, and 1 super fun virtual reception, and helped connect Richmond businesses to COVID19 relief resources, like the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. As the state of California moves to reopen the economy on June 15, we encourage everyone to get vaccinated, continue to practice prevention measures, and respect mask requirements, especially when shopping and dining, on public transportation, and in office settings.

Cool Downtown Happenings

Neighborhood Ambassadors keep Downtown clean & connected. Our ambassador program is made up of 2 vitally important teams and employs 3 Richmond residents. We are excited to share their “Spring Cleaning” accomplishments: Deonte and Mary, aka the maintenance crew, are nearly finished cutting weeds throughout the corridor. The hospitality team, Mary and Billy, hand delivered informational and resource packets to businesses. Great job teams!

Exciting news about Downtown businesses! Over the past two months we are excited to welcome new business and to welcome back many businesses closed by the pandemic. New businesses include Natrully Smooth Alkaline Water and Emmett’s Ice Cream. Additionally, Joy Cafe is under new management and El Garage has expanded their hours. Butterfly Nails, Kim’s Nails, YaNique Salon & Accessories, and Reentry Success Center have reopened. Welcome all!
