From our partners at East Bay Center for the Performing Arts:

Help us change the narrative of Richmond! Nominate a place of beauty in Richmond to be added to the Richmond Living Map Project. Please submit your nominations by February 21, 2019. Submission by the deadline is important if you want your place of beauty is to be added to a new locally designed art map of Richmond printed in May 2019.

The Richmond Living Map Project (RMap) is a collaborative project born out of a Healthy Richmond initiative where dozens of community-based organizations (CBOs), the City of Richmond, and thousands of citizens are committed to “Changing the Narrative” of Richmond to reflect the resilience, potential, and promise of its youth, adults, and families.

In 2017, Healthy Richmond and East Bay Center worked together to commission 10 site-specific resident/artist collaborative works, ranging from intimate performances and discussions to citywide peace walks and festivals. Each of these events served to highlight culturally important places on the RMap, to uplift the voices and perspectives of Richmond residents, to elevate self-identified issues of struggling neighborhoods, and to increase the equity of social, cultural, and economic capital shared between the city, the organizations, and the people whom they represent.

In 2019, East Bay Center is updating the RMap and we need your help! What places of beauty in Richmond need to be added to best represent our community?
